Magnum celebrates with 10 Long 10 Strong riddim
Magnum Tonic Wine, in celebrating 10 years of partnership with dancehall, is set to release a new riddim which will boast some of the hottest acts on the genre. With Mark Chin and Craig ‘Leftside’ Parks producing the Magnum 10 Long 10 Strong riddim which features Spice, Vegas, Elephant Man, Bugle, Vybz Kartel, Tifa, and Konshens the project is set to sweep the dancehall this Christmas, a release stated.
Gary Dixon, brand manager of Magnum Tonic Wine, is excited about the project and sees it as a fun representation of the Jamaican dancehall culture.
“I can tell you that the tracks are hot. The simplicity of the riddim made it easy for the artiste to voice and with that it was just pure fun and an exciting vibe, each artiste brought his/her own unique style whilst encapsulating their own experience with Magnum. This is what our celebration of 10 years is, fun as individuals and groups sharing music which is a universal language,” he said.
Craig Parks aka Leftside, adds flavour to the project with his perspective as a dancehall artiste, songwriter as well as producer. He is pleased to be part of this landmark project for Magnum Tonic Wine. He said, “When Magnum asked me to work on this project, I pretty much had the idea all thought out from the get-go. When I heard the title, 10 long 10 strong, I immediately thought stability, determination, drive, and with my style of music production being what you would call, ‘move music’, and with Magnum being an energetic fun-loving brand, the two are a perfect fit for what will be an awesome masterpiece.”
Gary Dixon approached Leftside because of his upbeat style which is suited to the vibe in the dancehall now and the celebratory feeling that is synonymous with the brand. Magnum Tonic Wine has been integral to the continued growth of dancehall since the 1999 launch the brand at the Cactus Night Club.
“Initiatives such as the Magnum Kings and Queen’s of the Dancehall which filters new and exciting talent into the mainstream business of music is one such collaboration that demonstrates the mutually beneficial relationship between dancehall and Magnum,” Dixon said.
In celebrating the milestones of the brand’s 10-year journey the fashion, music, dance and party vibe of the dancehall are features of both brands to be celebrated. Dixon reiterated the importance of showing appreciation to the dancehall fraternity for the continued support of the brand.
The project is also set to benefit a number of communities as part of the brand’s celebratory activities.
