New for the Holidays…
If you’re looking to upgrade your décor for the holidays — whether with new furniture for indoors or outdoors; or by replacing lamps and other accessories, you should have no problem finding just the right piece. The range of furnishing and household accessories available in Kingston has gone up a notch for developers, interior designers and homeowners with the opening of Matahari Enterprises Ltd.
Headquartered in Montego Bay, Matahari Enterprises supplies mainly teak, mahogany, synthetic and natural-weave furniture from Indonesia and Asia. Less than a month ago their Kingston showroom opened to the public at its Windsor Avenue location. This family-run business has successfully operated in Montego Bay, supplying hotels as well as residential customers. Their move to Kingston is expected to expand the operation further. Director Jason Shelton expressed the intention to work more with architects and developers in the coming year and expects to relocate the Montego Bay operation to a more visible location.
In the Kingston showroom, there are furniture items for just about every room in the house. However, their outdoor furniture collection was particularly appealing to me as it is not always easy to find attractive practical outdoor pieces. They supply a wide range of wicker, rattan, teak and mahogany items in this category. Rust-resistant aluminum frames, coupled with Sunbrella seat and cushion covers guarantee their outdoor pieces will be durable and very easily maintained.
Matahari’s extensive indoor and outdoor furniture vary from traditional to modern design. They carry a broad range of accessory items such as candleholders, lamps, jars and vases from wood, stone, limestone and bamboo . Other items include silk bedding, mirrors, and cushions – there is something for just about everyone.
The products have been very well received since the showroom’s opening, and the more contemporary and modern pieces in particular. For the holidays they will soon be releasing a range of colourful baskets, trays and a myriad of small items from their suppliers for your Christmas shopping needs. Go see what they have to offer.
