Trusting God Celta Kirkland
PROVERBS 3:5 and 6: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” We often measure success by the final outcome of a plan or project and become frustrated when the goals we set are not realised; we may become despondent, give up hope and believe we have failed. God does not measure success the way we do, the criterion of God’s yardstick of success is met when we walk in faith and trust Him in all that concerns us.
We tend to limit God with our limited finite view of success, which often does not correspond with God’s infinite divine plan for our lives. When we begin to really trust God, we will not be so focused on the end result but rather on the process, seeing God at work in all the events of our lives. This becomes an exciting journey when we become aware that nothing just happens or is coincidental in our lives, but in reflection we realise that it’s just a deliberate plan engineered by God for our success!
The outcome will be beyond our expectations and our wildest dreams. He will do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask, think or imagine! He is the awesome God who is pleased when we trust Him and walk humbly with Him in faith believing His word. In His great love for us and because of who He is, He will reach to the remotest star to give us pleasure, simply because we trust Him with all our hearts.
Eternal Father, we confess that as a nation we will not fear though the storms roar and the waters rage, but will stand firm trusting in You, the Lord of host who is with us. We also confess that You are our refuge and strength and our present help in times of need. We praise and thank You for the deliverance and restoration of our beloved nation.
In Jesus’ name
Amen.
