It was really ‘something for di people’ of Mason River
Not even the constant drizzle deterred patrons from coming out to support Something For Di People, held recently at Biggs HQ, Mason River District, Kellitts, Clarendon.
The show had all the ingredients for the spiritually conscious loving reggae enthusiasts, all the artistes billed were in the house and the vibes were so good that patrons stood their ground as the rain continue to drizzle.
After early juggling by Punch Line and Inie Man sound system the stage show began at 12:30 am when MC Frisco announced the first artiste Black Warrior who set the tone with his Ganja Yard tune, Highyaziya then followed with Guide and Protect, Why Why and Princess I Need You.
Young artiste Kritical delivered his crowd-loving tunes Top Ten, Hold The Faith and Money Nuff.
Ras Myrhdak scored with Blazer and his current radio hit, Zion Await. Predator with his Mad Sick Head Nuh Good blazed the place as the lighters were all lit; Danny English who performed solo made his presence felt from his entrance to the stage has he belted out From A Place, Jah Will Guide Over Us and Meet Me At The Party.
Egg Nog who arrived late could do no wrong with his new tune Our Father and Caan Chat To Dem Gal.
Veteran female group LMJ did their hard-hitting songs, Not Divided and Times Tough, which connected well with the appreciative audience.
The highlight of the show was the four the hard way which featured I Wayne, Ras Shiloh, Spryng I and Black Lion doing tune-for-tune which had the audience in a frenzy. I Wayne got this segment rolling with his chart topping hit Can’t Satisfy Her, Ras Shiloh sang Are You Satisfied, Spryng I chanted Hustle We A Hustle and Black Lion entertained the patrons with Rasta Nuh Inna Nuh Robbery.
I Wayne blazed the trail again with Lava Ground, Coming Home from Ras Shiloh continued the energy, as Spryng I Heights Up and Black Lion reminded the ladies to Push Lady Push.
Fire Star, Lava Ground Family and Natural Black also performed.
Ras Shiloh and Spryng I closed the show with their number one song Pressuring The Poor.
