Lewin’s four-timer sends Tru Juice atop Super League
MAY PEN, Clarendon — Dwayne Lewin scored four times to hand Tru Juice a 4-2 win over Leeds and the lead atop the tables, while promoted Woodhall won for the first time, as matches in the cross-zone feature of the South Central Confederation Super League commenced on the weekend.
At Naggo Head on Saturday, the home team spanked Monymusk 4-2 to climb three places up the table in third with 10 points. The defeat saw Monymusk sliding three places in the opposite direction to lie eighth with seven points.
At the Turners Oval in Chapelton, promoted Woodhall performed a giant-killing act when they handed Newlands their first defeat of the season 1-0. Woodhall moved up one place to 10th on six points, while Newlands (none) dropped to fourth.
On Sunday, Meadows lost their lead when they were held to a 1-1 stalemate by seventh-placed Downs (eight) at the Downs Community Centre. The St Catherine-based Meadows (14) are now in second-place.
At Wembley, Original Hazard and Hillstars continue to finding the going tough when they played to a 1-1 draw to remain in the danger zone. Hazard (six) are ninth, while Hillstars (five) are 11th — one place above Leeds who are yet to collect a point after six games.
Tafari Lions record win number three of the season when they blanked last season’s beaten finalist Bodles 2-0 at the Lacovia Community Centre. Tafari Lions (nine) are now fifth, one above Bodles (eight).
