Female producer brings classical flavour to dancehall
HAGUE, Trelawny — Young and innovative female producer Camille Campbell is steadfast in her resolve to provide the dancehall industry with a classical and Latin flavour through work at her new Trema Recording Studio, located in Hague, Trelawny.
“This is a new and fresh recording studio that brings a different flavour to the music industry,” Campbell told the Observer.
The young entrepreneur is aspiring to use her recording studio to provide easy opportunities for the talented youths in Trelawny to be able to expose their musical abilities without having to journey to Kingston.
But, the studio is not only restricted to western Jamaicans as among the top flight acts that have done work at the Trema Recording Studio, include dancehall king Beenie Man, energy god Elephant Man and poor people’s governor Chuck Fenda.
Canpbell, who is also an engineer and a vocalist, is currently fine-tuning plans to go on a six-weeks tour of Canada shortly.
