Ding Dong’s Holiday has cross over appeal, says Sean Kingston
INTERNATIONAL recording artiste, Sean Kingston, who performed in Kingston last weekend for the Coke Zero concert, notes that Ding Dong’s hit, Holiday could make it on the international scene.
This was just one of the local acts who could have crossover and have a major impact on the global music market starting with the United States.
“Ding Dong tune mad, it’s light and fresh and I could definitely see it making that move and blowing up on the international scene,” Sean Kingston said.
The recording artiste who burst onto the scene just over three years ago with the hit Beautiful Girls also had tonnes of praises for the work being put in the Big Ship family, particularly McGregor brothers Chino and Stephen.
“Chino is another Jamaican act that could do well overseas. His work is really wicked and tunes like Never Change and Pon Mi Head really sell off. Then you have his brother Stephen Di Genius, whose riddims are just the best,” Sean Kingston gushes. “If these guys continue with what they are doing the sky is the limit.”
So what is Sean Kingston listening to these days in terms of Jamaican music?
“I listen to everything,” he responds. “Mavado and Vybz Kartel, Tarrus Riley, Richie Spice, Maxi Priest, Sean Paul, Jah Cure and Shaggy, they are all in my ears.”
