Seba-U face Exidos in return-round football bout
BOUNTY HALL, Trelawny — Mid-season champions Seba United will travel to the Bounty Hall Community Centre on Sunday to face Exidos FC as the return round of the Captain’s Bakery Western Confederation Super League gets underway.
On Sunday, Seba United came from behind with two goals in the final six minutes from Jeremy Bucknor to beat Reno 2-1 in the mid-season final played at Jarrett Park.
With no bonus points being awarded for the game, Reno still leads on goal difference as they are tied on 29 points with Seba.
In the first round, Seba had beaten Exidos 2-1 at Jarrett Park, but since then the Trelawny debutants have won four games and accumulated 13 points.
Playing at home will help to improve Exidos’ confidence but Seba will prove to be a big hurdle.
Reno is expected to rebound from their loss on Sunday when they take on two-time defending champions Wadadah at the Frome Sports Complex.
Reno had won the first-round game 1-0.
Wadadah is in 11th place on four points — 25 points behind the leaders.
Third-placed Frome FC (24 points) and fifth-placed Catherine Hall (18 points) will meet in a game that should be the most competitive of the round at Herbert Morrison.
The teams had played to a 1-1 draw in the first round, and as two of the teams that will be chasing a semi-final place, they will begin their push for points.
Fourth-placed Bamboo (21 points) will be seeking a fourth straight win over an inconsistent Violet Kickers at the UDC field while former champions Granville travel to Lucea to face Prosper whom they beat 5-1 in the first round.
In the other game, Petersfield and Mt Pelier will meet at Petersfield.
