Campbell heads JCA team to India
KINGSTON, Jamaica (CMC) — Jamaica Cricket Association President Paul Campbell is heading a three-member delegation to India for a series of discussions with officials there.
Chairman of the JCA’s marketing and business development committee Gary Peart, and chairman of the JCA’s cricket development committee Dr Akshai Mansingh have accompanied Campbell on the trip, a news release from the JCA said.
“Campbell is now in India having discussions with representatives of the India Premier League teams, as well as cricket equipment suppliers and other interest groups,” said the JCA news release.
An official source indicated that the trip is to establish a Memorandum of Understanding with one of the IPL teams.
The delegation is set to attend IPL games as guests of Kings XI Punjab before returning to Jamaica on April 6. The team will also travel to Delhi during their visit.
“It’s really to link up with a team there to get them here to participate in our cricket festival, coaching programme, and other things,” the source said.
The JCA deal with Ihsan Sports, the cricket equipment and gear suppliers, has expired.
