W’House continue resurgence against Boys’ Town
WATERHOUSE FC continued their resurgence in the third round of the Digicel Premier League by beating 10-man Boys’ Town 3-1 at Collie Smith Drive on Sunday.
Damion Benjamin was expelled in the 66th minute for his second caution but his absence did not hurt Boys’ Town as Trench Town-based team continued to have more possession without being really threatening.
It was the second consecutive win for Waterhouse following their second-round success where they were crowned champions. After this, however, the dry spell crept in until last week Sunday when they edged August Town 1-0 in a home game.
Ironically, it was Waterhouse who scored the four goals with Kenardo Forbes in the third and 41st minutes and Nicholi Finlayson in the 15th registering for the winners, while defender Rohan Amos scored an own goal in the sixth minute.
Though winning coach Geoffrey Maxwell was not happy with his team’s performance, he was nonetheless encouraged by the victory as he wants the team to maintain its third-place position in the standings. “The three points were good, but we will have to continue to maintain this winning attitude,” he said.
Andrew Price, the Boys’ Town coach, was also unhappy for his team’s inept display. “They just did not turn up as you see… I’m not sure why this was so whether it was the holiday period or because we are still in the Flow Cup,” Price sad.
