Barrett Town, Revelation register wins in St James
ALBION, St James — Braces by Barrett Town’s Obrian Warren and Revelation’s Kenroy Birch led their teams to wins in their rescheduled St James Football Association’s Claro Senior League first-round games on Thursday.
The wins ensured the teams would finish the first round at the top of Zone A with 13 and 11 points, respectively.
At Albion, Warren scored in the 29th and 45th minutes as Barrett Town won for the fourth time in five games, while Devroy Leslie added a third goal in the 79th minute for a 3-0 win over Salt Spring Roses.
At Tucker, Kenroy Birch’s double carried Revelation to a 2-1 win over Mountain Villa as they won for third time and held unto their unbeaten streak.
Birch scored in the 23rd and 56th minutes to give his team the lead, while Romaine Cameron pulled one back for Mountain Villa in the 69th minute.
Salt Spring United took over third place after playing to a 0-0 draw with Mt Salem at Mt Salem field, moving to four points.
In Zone B, Fogo United cemented second place with a 2-1 win over Abes at Flankers. Obrian Street gave Fogo the lead in the 30th minute, but Julian Fisher equalised for Abes in the 53rd minute before Bryan Robinson scored the winner for Fogo in the 63rd minute.
At the UDC field, Melbourne, last year’s beaten finalists, earned their first point after a 1-1 come-from-behind draw against North Gully Ambassadors.
Oshornie Binger gave Ambassadors the lead in the 30th minute, but a strike from Davion Brown in the 59th levelled the scores and gave Melbourne their first point.
