Milo winners to collect prize money
MANDEVILLE, Manchester – Winning teams in Feruary’s 32nd staging of the Milo Western Relays will collect $300,000 in prizes at the Tropics View Hotel in Mandeville tomorrow.
The prize ceremony will be twinned with a presentation ceremony for the Milo Junior Grand Prix.
Edwin Allen High girls and Holmwood Technical were the big winners with $80,000 and $55,000 respectively.
Ten teams will be awarded cash prizes for finishing in the top four in the 4x400m and 4x800m races. at the GC Foster Sports College in Angels, St Catherine
The Michael Dyke-coached Edwin Allen High team won six events including the 4x400m and 4x800m that carried first prizes of $40,000 each.
Holmwood Technical boys were second to Munro College in the 4x400m and fourth in the 4×800, while the girls were second to Edwin Allen in the 4x800m and third in the 4x400m behind Edwin Allen and Manchester High.
Edwin Allen and Manchester High were also third in the 4x800m.
GC Foster won the 4x800m open for men ahead of the University of Technology (UTECH) and Kingston College (KC).
St Elizabeth Technical was third in the boys’ 4x400m with William Knibb fourth in both sections.
Tacius Golding will collect $5,000, having taken fourth in the 4x800m for girls.
