Saint models global supermodels for SWJ 2K10
The 2010 edition of StyleWeek Jamaica/Fashionblock is set for May 27-30. While plans are well advanced into themes, designers rosters, celebrity guest options there is a buzz among international fashion watchers about the top models who have expressed interest in appearing at the pre-summer event.
According to Saint CEO, Deiwght Peters a number of powerful model agencies in New York, Paris and Milan have also offered support to the agency by offering their world-famous models for the event.
“We are committed to offering a world class fashion presentation (in Jamaica) with a cadre of flawless international and Jamaican supermodel talent,” Peters said. “There is no doubt that the best models bring a certain élan to the designers vision and aesthetic. The world over, it is known that the wrong models in a show can be a disaster,” he added.
Over the last few months, Saint has claimed the international fashion spotlight as its models dazzle the runways of New York, London, Milan and Paris.
Saint supermodels Sosheba Griffith, Shena Moulton, Raschelle Osbourne, CJ, and Chantel Lee will be leading the team of global supermodels who are being confirmed for the glam fest at the end of May.
The agency’s latest sensation Shena has been dazzling the world since her debut just six months ago. She has made history in Paris walking for more runway shows than any new Caribbean model. Shena walked for 11 shows in her first Paris runway season for top designers including Louis Vuitton. Chantel Lee has been rocking the pages of magazines such as British Elle and walking for top British designers including Peter Costelloe and Nathan Jenden at Lonndon Fashionweek. Sosheba has been the new darling of fashion after her exclusive turn on the Givenchy runways during the recent Paris Fashionweek. Since then fashion’s major powerbrokers including American Vogue have been meeting with Sosheba. CJ has been one of the Caribbean’s most prolific and consistent model of the last decade. She has appeared on magazine covers and runways in London, Paris, Barcelona, South Africa, and Singapore.
Raschelle has been a star of the runway from New York, Paris, Capetown and Johannesburg.
Saint has reported that casting directors, photographers and powerful lifestyle magazine editors have been expressing interest to be at the event. Several top agents have already booked flights to the show.
Many supermodels have graced the runways of STYLEWEEK JAMAICA in the past. These included French Vogue Cover girl and Yves St. Laurent muse Giorgianna Robertson and Calvin Klein supermodel-turned TV-personality Stacey McKenzie.
