Lindsay Lohan’s film project in doubt

Lindsay Lohan’s film project in doubt

after judge orders her to wear alcohol-monitoring bracelet

Lindsay Lohan lost a bid to relax restrictions involving drug and alcohol testing so she can attend a film shoot in Texas.

Appearing in a Beverly Hills court Monday, the actress was ordered to wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet, despite her attorney saying it would interfere with photo shoots and her filming schedule.

Lohan appeared before a judge after missing a probation hearing last week relating to a 2007 drink-driving case. The Mean Girls star looked sombre as she conferred with her attorney about the plan for attaching an alcohol-monitoring bracelet to her ankle and requiring drug testing every week in the Los Angeles area. It is understood Lohan is due to be in Texas for commitments relating to the film Machete, a Robert Rodriguez film that co-stars Jessica Alba and Robert DeNiro. But Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel suggested the 23-year-old star would have to delay her involvement in the project.

Lohan, who was wearing a dark grey suit, was told she had violated her probation and the judge scheduled a new hearing in July to determine possible further sanctions. The Hollywood actress, who agreed to the conditions, claimed she lost her passport in France last week, preventing an earlier return to Los Angeles for the May 20 hearing she missed. She was pictured attending several parties in Cannes last week. Judge Revel said Lohan had failed to complete alcohol education classes imposed as part of a 2007 sentence for reckless driving, drunken driving and driving under the influence of cocaine. Revel warned Lohan last October that she risked going to jail unless she took the matter seriously.

Rihanna’s Big Weekend: Superstar steals the show with leather-clad performance

Her album is called Rated R so it is no wonder Rihanna put on a racy show at Radio One’s Big Weekend.

The 22-year-old strutted around the stage in fishnets, boots and a reggae-inspired leather playsuit with go-faster stripes in red, green and yellow and a hood. The Bajan superstar is used to playing to huge sellout crowds across the country. She had probably never heard of Bangor, North Wales, where the free festival took place. But as she finished her raunchy set, she yelled out: ”Bangor, I’ve had so much fun with you guys.” The singer has spent this month on tour throughout the UK and brought a production that included a full live band and pyrotechnic streamers. Rihanna is currently in the throes of the UK leg of her Last Girl On Earth tour.

Ooh la la! Venus Williams reveals a little too much in lacy French Open dress

So tennis whites can be a bit dull. And sports wear is not the most sexy attire around.

And Venus Williams was playing in the French Open in Paris . . . which might go some way to explain her choice of outfit in her first match of the tournament. The 29-year-old player looked as if she had borrowed a negligee from a burlesque troupe at the Moulin Rouge. The lacy, tutu-type attire kept bunching up to reveal her skintight flesh-coloured knickers. It gave onlookers more than an eyeful of her shapely derriere. The star said she was wanted to create an “illusion” – she’s actually created a bit of a furore. But it’s unlikely her colourful outfits will go down well at the All-England tennis club. Players are expected to wear classic white at Wimbledon. Venus is currently ranked No.2 in the world.

Her attorney said the sanctions would interfere with Lohan’s filming schedule, but the judge said the actress would have to delay her working commitments.
