Holland move into second
DAVIS PEN, Trelawny — Holland United moved into second place in the point’s tables of the Trelawny Football Association’s National Rums of Jamaica Major League on Saturday after a surprise 3-0 win over former second-placed team Clarks Town in their return-round game played at Davis Pen.
Holland United, who avenged a first-round loss, led 1-0 at half-time before wrapping up the points with two goals within two minutes late in the second half.
With the win, their ninth in 16 games, Holland advanced to 32 points, two more than Clarks Town who were losing for only the second time this season but have failed to win in their last four outings.
Romaine Lewis gave Holland the lead after 18 minutes, but the former champions had to wait until the 77th minute to get the second goal, thanks to Collin James, while Odean Gallimore added a third in the 79th minute.
Duanvale tightened their hold on fourth place on 28 points with a 2-1 win over Palmento at Duanvale Community Centre.
Orlando Grey gave the home team the lead after 27 minutes and Shamnie Nathan doubled the lead in the 42nd minute.
Dwayne Cole scored Palmento’s goal in the 65th minute.
Meanwhile, leaders Harmony saw their game against Flames postponed until Wednesday, June 2.
