Six hunt berths in St James Div One semis
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Six teams will be chasing the two remaining semi-final spots as the preliminary rounds of the St James FA’s Claro Division One competition ends this afternoon with five third round games.
Two teams Little Miami and Montego Bay Boys Club have already secured their semi-final places in the top four but the race will be on for the other two places.
On Tuesday, Little Miami topped Zone A after drawing 2-2 against Reggae Youths at the UDC Field and is on 24 points with a game to go.
Boys Club who beat Rosemount 3-0 at Mt Salem had already topped Zone B and improved to 37 points, well clear of the field.
In Zone A, Juniors FC who completed their fixtures with a 4-1 loss to Seaview to remain on 20 points an d must hope that neither contenders Rosemount or Westgreen win their games today.
Rosemount will take on Champions FC at Sam Sharpe Teachers College and a win should be enough to get them in ahead of Westgreen who will be up against relegated Marl Road at Albion.
If Westgreen who beat Champion 4-1 on Tuesday is to advance they would need to win big as they have a negative two goal difference, compared to Rosemount’s plus three.
In Zone B, a win for either Reggae Youths or Seaview would be enough to see them advance.
Reggae Youths will take on relegated Upsetters at Tucker while Seaview and Copperwood will face off at Seaview.
