Bonafide promises ‘big’ Sumfest performance
Montego Bay, St James — Las Vegas-based reggae band Bonafide is all excited to return on Reggae Sumfest where they are set to perform on International Night II, July 24, at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre in Montego Bay.
This will be the third Reggae Sumfest gig for Bonafide who did previous stints on the ‘biggest reggae show on earth’ in 2007 and 2008.
The five member band– comprising four brothers from Montego Bay, Junior Roots, Ricky Dread Mikey Gits and Wayne Bass; and Kerry Ranks , who hails from Clarendon–predicts the delivery of their best ever Sumfest performance.
“Patrons should expect the biggest performance we ever did to date at Reggae Sumfest, this year,” Junior Roots promised, during an interview at the Reggae Sumfest 2010 launch in Montego Bay last week.
Bonafide’s collaboration with Vybz Kartel, Leaving, is experiencing rotation on local radio. The group has also combined with Etana, I Want to Be the One, as well as with Busy Signal on Bumper.
” Believe me we feel nice to come home to play on Jamaica’s biggest festival. We have done Bob Marley Festival in California, Reggae in the Dessert in Nevada , we play on festivals in New Zealand in front of over 100,00 people; Hawaii, Australia, Fiji, so we been all over the place but we want to get big up inna Jamaica because a yah so we come from,” Junior Roots declared. — HORACE HINES
