PNP Tredegar councillor gets death threats
PEOPLE’S National Party councillor for the Lauriston Division, Keisha Lewis, says death threats has forced her to steer clear of the troubled community of Tredegar Park.
Lewis made the claims after residents lashed out against politicians and police during a tour of the area by Security Minister Dwight Nelson.
“I have been working closely with the people in the community but as it relates to my personal safety I have taken the decision not to physically visit the community because of a threat that I received,” Lewis said.
The residents say despite dozens of murders and shootings their cries for help have fallen on deaf ears.
“The political representative not working with us and even the police taking sides,” said one resident.
