Concentrate on the good
Dear Editor,
We rejoice that Yendi Phillips came second in this year’s Miss Universe contest. We are happy too that there was great improvement in this year’s GSAT and other exams.
The country has seen significant growth in agriculture so we can feed ourselves and be happy. Minister of Finance Audley Shaw has worked hard. We have passed the first IMF test and await the second one, so doesn’t that show that the country is on the path to recovery? Therefore, let us as a nation feel proud that we are moving in the right direction.
But the Manatt, Phelps & Phillips matter is all over the media and has become a sore point. The Trafigura Beheer scandal has also come back. These were all behind us. Why don’t we bury them and do what makes Jamaica successful?
I am a member of the Anglican Church and I always pray for peace on this land. We do need peace. May God bless and keep Jamaica.
