Taxman seizes Bounty Killer’s luxury vehicle
DANCEHALL act Rodney Pryce, who goes by the stage name Bounty Killer, is the latest in a line of high-profile entertainers to find themselves in trouble with the taxman.
The DJ yesterday had his two high-end motor vehicles — a Ranger Rover and Toyota Land Cruiser — seized by the Inland Revenue Department, reportedly for owing millions of dollars in taxes.
The vehicles were seized by the Special Enforcement Team of the Revenue Department at the entertainer’s home at the Oakland apartment complex along Constant Spring Road in St Andrew.
The Observer was unable to reach Pryce for a comment yesterday. His manager Julian Jones-Griffith was off the island and could not be reached on any of his two known telephone numbers.
Pryce is the second entertainer who have had their vehicles seized because of non-compliance in paying taxes. Earlier this month, the Revenue Department swooped down on Elephant Man’s home in St Andrew and seized a Mercedes Benz motor car.
According to a source at the Inland Revenue Department, the Special Enforcement Team only takes action when all other efforts to collect outstanding taxes have failed.
