Making Space
Imagine perfectly chilled flutes of ‘fresita’ made from premium Chilean sparkling wine, infused with hand-picked strawberries from Patagonia and the Andes mountains, courtesy of Caribbean Producers Jamaica. This you will sip while shopping at Spaces, in the Winchester Business Centre, one of the many shopping outlets partcipating in Fashion’s Night Out. And because fashion — and style for that matter — extends way beyond a closet, it’s only natural that they offer ‘Everything Home, Everything Style’.
Managing Director Janelle Pantry shares with SO her experience last year, which far exceeded her expectations — the store had to extend its hours beyond 10:00 pm. Pantry says, “Clients loved the FNO atmosphere with its extended hours, getting dressed up for it. I think they really loved the overall experience, and we are going to try to replicate that this year.”
Plans are already in place for discounts of up to 50 per cent for customers, with a 15 per cent discount on all special orders. The store will use FNO to unveil its Fall/Winter collection featuring new wall décor, accent pieces and furniture in warm colours. Also in-store on that day will be SO décor contributor Marjorie Allen and UK-trained interior decorator Cleon Roberts. These two interior design mavens will be on location to assist shoppers with specific purchases as well as to offer advice on improving interiors.
Says Allen, “Last year I was at Island Art, this year at Spaces, I’m just happy to be able to contribute.” Roberts continues, “I think it’s a fantastic idea. It’s great because it gets people out there, and with a store like Spaces, someone who can’t afford to move into a new home, for example, can buy a few pieces that can help change or update their homes.”
