Teenager killed intervening in family fight

Cousin now being questioned by police

ONE 16-year-old girl is dead while the alleged killer, her cousin, is now in custody following a dispute in Chantilly, Williamsfield, Manchester last night.

The dead girl is Tajay Denton of Chantilly.

Williamsfield Police reported that about 7:30 pm Denton intervened in a fight which involved her mother and her cousin, aged 16. During the melee, a knife which was brought into play was allegedly used by Denton’s cousin to stab her.

Denton was taken to the Mandeville Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Her cousin is being questioned by police having surrendered herself earlier this morning.

Investigations continue.
