Please fix the roadway
Dear Editor,
We have just returned from what was overall a very enjoyable visit to your country.
We were staying at Beaches Sandy Bay in Negril.
However, we did not just stay in the resort, but took many trips to see the country. One of those trips was to Black River and YS Falls.
The issue we want to raise is of public safety not only for tourists, but for residents of Jamaica. Once we left Negril, the condition of the highway deteriorated severely! The condition of the road was nothing less than dangerous. All the potholes and the broken pavement that the bus driver had to dodge were amazing.
This trip took about two hours, each way. If the main road was looked after, we believe that the trip would have been quicker, but most important, would have been safe! We had what I would call many “close calls” on our trip to and from Black River and YS Falls.
For the safety of your residents and tourists who drive your economy, please fix the roadway!
