DUNCANS, Trelawny — DONOVAN “Juppy Junior” White, the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) caretaker for the Duncans Division, has called on Member of Parliament for the area Dr Patrick Harris to use of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to address a raft of ills in the division.

White, the son of former deputy mayor of Falmouth and councillor for the area Errol ‘Juppy’ White, said in recent months he has received numerous complaints from residents about the lack of several basic amenities in the division.

“I have been inundated with complaints from residents in Samuel Prospect, Rio Bueno, Brompton, Barnstable, as well as Jackson Town over the lack of piped water and poor roads in these communities,” he told the Observer West.

He said communities like Samuel Prospect, Barnstable and Rio Bueno have been without a reliable supply of piped water for several years, adding that many residents are forced to buy water from private contractors for more than $2,000 per load.

White cited the Duncans to Clarks Town main road which he said has been in a deplorable state for more than five years, as one of several roads in the division in dire need of repairs.

“With the rainy season now upon us, that roadway is rapidly deteriorating, making it dangerous for motorists,” he said.

According to the JLP caretaker, a number of taxi operations plying the popular have threatened to withdraw their route services if the roadway is not rehabilitated soon.

White has also expressed concern about a number of roadways in the area which he said are overgrown with bushes.
