No angel died at Clarendon Park
Dear Editor,
After reading the sympathetic comments made by some readers on the diary entries of slain gunman Cedric Murray, I was appalled at how emotion can overcome reason. Remember that the article on Murray said he was on the police list of Jamaica’s 10 most wanted men for more than seven years.
According to the police, Murray was on the run since 2002 after he was accused of at least six murders committed in St James in previous years. He was also fingered in a triple murder at Felicity Road in Montego Bay in February 2006.
To paraphase former Minister Dudley Thompson regarding the Green Bay affair in the 70s: No angel died at Clarendon Park. Murray might have had his moments of musings and regret, but make no mistake, had you or I come between between him and something he wanted, he would have blown our heads off with no compunction. There are many people who faced life with circumstances like his but did not choose to become latter-day Rhygins.
