Make-up artists: The people you turn to when beauty’s in peril
WHO are you most likely to call when you’re feeling ugly? Probably your makeup artist — the professional who, if he/she is a master at his/her craft, makes you feel beautiful while helping to boost your confidence.
For insight into the profession, Career & Education turns this week to Racquel Jenkins Moss-Solomon, principal of the Kingston-based Permanent Cosmetic Studio and Boutique, and a woman who has been in the business for close to a decade.
The mother of one, who opened the doors to her establishment in 2003, holds a first degree in computer science and a second degree in marketing and public relations.
At Permanent Cosmetic — the home of Eve Pearl in Jamaica — they have a range of offerings, permanent makeup, airbrush tanning, extreme lash extension, makeup artistry classes, and makeup supplies. To access those offerings, it can cost you anywhere between $1,500 and $10,000.
