Blame it on the alcohol: Jamie Foxx parties like a Playboy at his Vegas birthday bash

Where better for a rapperturned-singer-turned-moviestar to celebrate his birthday than Las Vegas? Oscar winner Jamie Foxx mixed business with pleasure to toast his 43rd birthday, which was actually yesterday, at the Playboy nightclub in The Palms Hotel And Casino on Saturday night. The star relaxed with a host of beautiful women at a private table in the VIP area of the club before grabbing a microphone and singing along to a few songs.

Foxx was dressed casually for the soirée, which was being filmed by a hotel camera crew, in a white T-shirt and dark trousers paired with a grey cashmere scarf and his signature sunglasses. Strangely the star also chose to accessorise his outfit with a very fetching rucksack which he kept strapped to his back the entire night. Maybe he was expecting that he would have a large number of gifts to take home at the end of the night.

Foxx, who won an Academy Award for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the biopic Ray, recently wrapped filming on the comedy Horrible Bosses alongside Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Colin Farrell, Kevin Spacey and Julie Bowen. The film follows three disgruntled employees who decide to murder their bosses after realising that they were affecting their potential happiness. The film is due to be released on July 29, 2011.

Now Dexter’s killed off his marriage: Michael C Hall and Jennifer Carpenter to divorce after just two years

Dexter stars Michael C Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are to divorce after just two years of marriage. Representatives for the couple confirmed the news to Entertainment Weekly yesterday.

The couple play brother and sister Dexter and Deb Morgan on the hit Showtime series about a serial killer who only murders other killers. They married on New Year’s Eve in 2009 after two years of dating. The announcement comes just one day after Carpenter attended the fifth-season finale party in New York without Hall, according to Access Hollywood. A source told the website that the pair have not been getting along on the set of the show this season.

Hall, 39, who completed treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma earlier this year, always maintained that the couple’s personal relationship did not affect their work on set. “We certainly pride ourselves in being professionals,” he told Us Weekly earlier this year. “We work on the same show but we’re not in every scene together. We don’t see each other on set as often as you’d think.”

Fitter than ever at 48? It’s not a Mission:Impossible for Tom Cruise as he shows off his Top Guns on film set

He might be 48 years old, but Tom Cruise appears to be in the best shape of his life. The actor showed off his incredibly muscular arms in a white tank top on the set of Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol

in Vancouver, Canada on Monday. Cruise will reprise his role as secret agent Ethan Hunt in the new film, which is being filmed 14 years after the original Mission: Impossible film in 1996.

The actor is known for his love of action-filled movies and famously performs the majority of his own stunts. And Cruise admitted it is through these stunts, which he also showed off in recent movie Knight And Day, that he manages to stay in such good shape.

He said: “when you’re doing a film like Knight And Day, you train through stunts. You learn what you have to do. In movies, you have to be just as fresh in the 14th hour as when you got there because you just need that energy to perform and it’s something I live with.” Stunts for the upcoming action film, due for release in America in December 2011, include Cruise scaling the tallest building in the world, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, for a chase around the skyscraper.
