Kanye West courts controversy as he steps out in flamboyant fur coat

Perhaps Kanye West was making a point. Exactly a year after PETA branded him an “idiot” for wearing fur, the controversial musician stepped out in his statement animal pelt coat once again. Wearing head-to-toe fur and sun glasses, the 33-year-old was shuttled around New York for a series of business meetings. The Gold Digger rapper has a penchant for pelts, and on December 31 he took to Twitter to post the cryptic message: ‘Fur Coats and s***.” But Kanye has run into trouble in the past over his fondness for fur. In 2009, pop star Pink openly criticised Kanye for his love of fur. She said she was sitting near Kanye at Stella McCartney’s Paris fashion show, where guests included Dan Matthews, the vice-president of PETA and noted vegetarian Paul McCartney, when the rapper started complaining that more of the clothes needed fur. “Kanye West is the person pissing me off right now”, she told FHM Australia. “He just wouldn’t shut up about how he loved fur. I mean, he’s saying this to me, the PETA guy and Paul McCartney! I was just so grossed out by him. I’m like ‘You’re an idiot!'”

Then in January of 2010, Kanye and then girlfriend Amber Rose were snapped at Paris Fashion Week wearing flamboyant long furs, causing a backlash by the PETA vice president. “Kanye can’t help making himself look like an idiot, whether at an awards show or a fashion show,’ he said. “He and his girlfriend look like pathetic creatures from a shabby roadside zoo.”

Lindsay Lohan moves into a new luxury home right beside former lover

It seems Lindsay Lohan can’t move on from her relationship with ex Samantha Ronson. The 24-year-old, who left the Betty Ford Clinic Tuesday after a 90-day court-mandated stay, is preparing to move into a new home in Venice Beach, California, which is right next door to her ex-girlfriend. The pair used to reside in the same apartment building in the West Hollywood area of Los Angeles, but Ronson moved out last year. And now, Lindsay has decided to follow her across town. Ronson is said to be unhappy about the move and made her feelings clear when Lindsay’s father Michael was shifting things into the new place. “Samantha walked out of the building next door,” a source tells America’s Us Weekly. ‘She was shaking her head and looking disgusted. She kept saying, “I didn’t plan it this way’.” When photographers asked the 33-year-old DJ if she had any New Year’s resolutions, her reply was “No. I’m too p*ssed off right now.” Meanwhile Lindsay seems undeterred, tweeting an inspirational quote from Gandhi on New Year’s Day. She said: “Today is the first day of the rest of my life.”

Kate Gosselin takes her eight children on a long-haul trip to Australia

Flying with one child can be tough, so travelling with eight is a challenge of epic proportions. But it wasn’t enough to put Kate Gosselin off taking her brood on a trip to Australia, which is around a 20-hour flight from her home near Philadelphia. The large family were today spotted on Wednesday arriving at Brisbane Airport on the latest leg of their tour Down Under. They are in the country to shoot scenes for upcoming episodes of her TLC series Kate Plus Eight. Kate and her children have been in Australia since late December, and they rang in the New Year in Sydney Harbour. Earlier this week they visited Adelaide, South Australia. Kate’s ex-husband, Jon, is said to have tried to stop the trip from happening by going to court in Pennsylvania last month but he lost that battle.
