Say hello to minx nails — a fairly recent trend in nail design preferred by world-famous celebrities. Like the ‘mani-pedi’, it comes in a wide array of stylish designs, can be worn on any nail surface — natural, gel or acrylic — and lasts two-three weeks. Minx ‘mani-pedis’ was launched at Norma Webster Salon, Spa & Cosmetics establishment for the Jamaica Observer’s celebration of Fashion’s Night Out last year, and has since gained much popularity with the second city’s style set.

Today we’re showing you how to Get The Look in three easy steps.

Step 1

First, the nail technician selects a stencil featuring the design of your choice, that best suits the shape of your nail. This is then cut and filed down to the exact nail shape and placed onto each finger.

Step 2

A special lamp is used to heat the stencil on your nails so that it adheres to the nail properly.

Step 3

After heating, the design is smoothed out to remove all the air pockets beneath and voilà! Your celebrity nail look is ready to wear!
