Judgement to host Theatre Arts students this month
STUDENTS pursuing Theatre Arts at the CSEC level are in for a treat as Judgement; the exciting new production now playing at the Pantry Playhouse, will be offering them specially discounted tickets to the show.
Students will also have the opportunity to speak with the cast and crew about the show and the intricacies of production. In requirement of their Theatre Arts School-Based Assessment, students do a critique of a production which, along with a research paper, contributes to 20 per cent of their total grade.
The Theatre Arts syllabus has been designed to provide experiences that would enable the student to appreciate and communicate theatrical events with their minds as well as their senses, emotions and their bodies, thereby fostering self-confidence, self-discipline and self-motivation.
Since its opening on Boxing Day, Judgement has received rave reviews from theatre audiences and critics alike, who have described the show as a powerfully engaging and intensely hilarious production.
Set in New York, Judgement is a wonderful commentary on friendship, relationships, consequences and the pitfalls of revenge.
Written by Dahlia Harris, who is also featured in the stellar cast along with Deon Silvera, and Andre Morris, Judgement is being staged by DMH Productions.
Several schools have already taken advantage of the special offer and have made their bookings for the specified nights of January 12, 19 and 20. Tickets must be booked through the school in advance and must be for CSEC purposes only. Schools that are interested in taking advantage of the offer may confirm their bookings at 352-6180.
