Campion, Hillel KC win in table tennis
AS the ISSA table tennis competition served off two days ago, Campion College defeated Hillel Academy 3-1 in Girls U-19 on Monday.
In Urban play on Tuesday, Hillel edged Jamaica College (JC) 3-2 in Boys U-19 category.
And in Boys U-16, Hillel blanked JC 5-0; St Jago drubbed St George’s College 5-0; Wolmer’s Boys’ beat Norman Manley 4-1, and former champions Kingston College blanked Ardenne, 5-0
In the Rural Section, in Girls U-19 play, former champions Manchester Hig blanked newcomers Holmwood Tech 3-0 and Belair Hig clipped DeCarteret College 3-2.
In Boys Ur-19, Cross Keys drubbed DeCarteret 4-1.
In individual results in the Campion versus Hillel Academy U-19 Girls contest, which was hosted by Hillel, national representative Kristen McKenzie won two matches for Campion.
She cruised past Kaodi McGaw and Sreyneang 3-0, as Janique overpowered Phon 3-0, for Campion’s third win. Shafah Kafra clipped Rebecca Harris 3-2 to pull one back for Hillel.
In the Hillel /JC U-19 Boys duel, Kyle Parchment stopped Stephen Reid 3-1; William Ebhohimen overpowered Jeovani Husey 3-0, and Russell Wilson turned back Damani Newman, 3-1, for Hillel’s three victories.
Japheth Clarke outscored Yash Amin 3-1 and Dominic Smikle trounced Brian Royes, 3-0, for JC’s two consolation triumphs.
In the Hillel versus JC U-16 Boys encounter, Adam Ziadie, Craig Chin, Jordan Jordine, Simon DaCosta and Zachary Hugh Sam cruised to 3-0 wins over Brandon Fisher, Pierre Charles-Doucett, Raymond Marsh, Jan-Michael Simmonds and Akeem McKenzie, respectively, in Hillel’s 5-0 victory.
