Saturday Hustle – March 26
A collection of Jamaica’s top reggae artists in collaboration with some talented newcomers are lending their voices to a two-disc Donovan Germain-produced tribute album dubbed My Favourite Beres Hammond Songs. The album features each singer voicing their favourite single by the veteran reggae crooner. Hammond, known for his emotive delivery, superb songwriting skills and gravelly yet somehow smooth-sounding vocals, has revealed that he is impressed with the product, which is set for release on April 26. Saturday Hustle plays tracks from the forthcoming production.
Love From A Distance
Lukie D
Singer Lukie D, who is a member of LUST, sings his favourite Beres Hammond track, the profound Love From A Distance, with much gusto.
Double Trouble
Romain Virgo
The former Digicel Rising Star has been making quite an impression on the regional music industry, earning respect for his distinctive sound and catchy, lovers’ rock-type singles. Little wonder he too was chosen to lend his talent to the upcoming compilation.
Putting Up Resistance
Sherieta
Up-and-coming singer/songwriter Sherieta Lewis, who is well known as an excellent background vocalist, is also among the line-up of talents singing their favourite Beres Hammond tracks for the album. And we’re sure her input will make quite an impact.
What One Dance Can Do/She Loves Me Now/Come Back Home medley
Richie Stephens and Niquet Goldson
Veteran artiste Richie Stephens joined forces with up-and-coming act Niquet Goldson for a medley of Hammond’s hits, which makes for a sweet collaboration indeed.
Step Aside
Tessanne Chin
We just can’t wait to hear Tessanne’s interpretation of this mega-hit single, and you will, we’re sure, appreciate the riveting quality of her powerful vocals on this track.
Tempted To Touch
Busy Signal
It’s hardly surprising really, that Busy Signal’s favourite Beres Hammond track would be Tempted To Touch, as the dancehall artiste is well known for penning sensuous, charming tunes. And this track falls perfectly into that category.
