FLEXXING with… T’nez
FROM his humble beginnings singing in the choir in his hometown of Burnt Savannah in the parish of Westmoreland, Tristan ‘T’Nez’ Barnes has risen from obscurity and has distinguished himself as a deejay for the young generation.
Using his melodic and unique vocals, his lyrics express love for his mother and what the future holds for him. He credits well-known local and international singers, such as Barrington Levy, Jah Cure and Whitney Houston as being the inspiration behind his vocal renditions. T’Nez is confident that he will follow the chorus of one of his songs and Turn My Life Around for the better.
After getting his degree in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies, T’Nez has used this knowledge, and the experience he gained from being the Cultural Entertainment Affairs Chairperson for Rex Nettleford Hall to propel his career to new heights. He encourages all TEENS to get an education because “it improves your decision-making skills and gives you the ability to express yourself better”.
Since his days with Chimney Records he has moved on to form his own management company called Yung Tykoonz. “It was always my desire to have my own business and since I was in the entertainment industry I thought it would fit perfectly for me and my business partner Shayne Griffiths to start an artiste and event management company.”
To date he has recorded songs for producers such as Jordan McClure (Chimney Records), Stephen ‘Di Genuis’ McGregor (Big Ship), DJ Frass, Daseca, Romeich, Cashflow, Seanizzle, and 007 among others.
His most recent buzz are the two videos he shot for his songs Me She Love and a medley for Destiny and Betta Days. He informs that they will be released soon.
