DIY and REUSE
When I was pregnant, I occupied my time by making my own crib bedding, but now that baby’s outgrown the crib, the question is…what to do with the bedding set? I could pass it down to someone else, and I will, but there are parts of it, like the crib skirt, that aren’t necessary and can be used for other purposes, and that is exactly what I plan to do. The old crib skirt will now become a valance that can either be used in his bedroom, or above a shower curtain. The trick is to keep the theme/scheme of the nursery basically the same as the grown-up/graduating room; that way you can reuse as much as you can, like the crib skirt in this case, as well as personalised pillows and quilts.
For this project you will:
1. Pick off/remove skirting from rectangle base
2. Stitch a rod pocket at the top of the skirting
3. And hang
And just like that, you have recycled/reclaimed/reused an item that was headed for the take-out bin.
In these times we have to be smart, think outside the box, and see way ahead when we are planning.
