Cocktails With – Kedeish Hill
We’re sipping cocktails with the beautiful, ambitious Kedeish Hill — Senior Clerk in Sagicor Life Jamaica’s Paramedic Unit. Her charming persona and unmistakeable diligence catapulted her to first runner-up for Employee of the Year 2010, after less than two years in the company. She’s sharing her thoughts on the nomination, and interesting titbits about herself with SO following the Sagicor Annual Corporate Awards at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.
What are you sipping?
Sea Breeze — Sagicor’s signature drink for the evening. It’s a very nice blend.
What kind of day are you having?
A nice and mellow one.
How does it feel to be the first runner-up to the Sagicor Employee of the Year for 2010?
I was elated about the nomination and even more proud to be placed in the top two. It’s very heartening to know that my hard work and efforts are recognised and rewarded, especially in such a prestigious company. It encourages me to continue my undying pursuit of excellence. I must admit that placing second isn’t quite like winning; however, I am still very grateful. I have the support of the Paramedic team, my family is bursting with pride, and I couldn’t have lost to a more worthy opponent. Congrats, Wayne!
What’s your ideal relaxation spot?
Lounging on a beach… somewhere.
What’s your latest obsession?
Baking (smiles).
Socialite or homebody?
Homebody.
Flats or stilettos?
I can’t decide; I have tons of both.
Jeans or LBD?
Shorts (smiles).
What’s your must-have accessory?
Killer handbags, sunglasses and shoes… what can I say? I’m an accessory-o-holic.

Chic, classy and uniquely me.
What’s in your handbag?
My MAC lipstick, Victoria’s Secret lipgloss and BlackBerry.
What perfume are you spraying?
Incanto-Heaven by Salvatore Ferragamo.
What’s your idea of the perfect man?
I just need someone with whom I ‘click’, who loves me unconditionally. Someone who understands me and possesses the qualities of a friend and partner. He must also be family-oriented, God-fearing, respectful, intelligent and interesting, with a good sense of style, and confident enough to let me be me unapologetically.
What’s your idea of the perfect date?
A surprise trip to Italy for a weekend! (laughs) Just kidding. It’s amazing how perfect any date can be when it involves good music, good food, lots of laughing and doing whatever it is at that moment that makes us both truly happy. But a day at the spa followed by a night cosying up on a moonlit beach, listening to the waves and sipping wine sounds blissful too!
What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Hypocrites.
Who does your hair?
Adolph at the Jamaica Pegasus.
Who does your nails?
Racquel Leslie, she’s the absolute best!
When you’re not working, where’s the best place to find you?
Home with friends or family, or out on a ‘country flex’. I like to take trips.
What’s in your car stereo/on your iPod?
A mixture of my all-time favourites, from all genres and eras.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
One my mummy recently shared with me: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not onto thine own understanding, but in all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path.”
Who or what inspires you?
My family. I always want to make them proud.
And 10 years from now?
A husband, two kids, a house, a dog and the most sought-after event planning company in Jamaica! (Big Grin).
