Ja second at Carib equestrian event
SARA Misir and Sayan Johnston helped Jamaica secure second place in the Caribbean Equestrian Association Junior Jumping Competition held in the Cayman Islands last weekend.
The Jamaicans had a combined total of six points as Misir placed second in the .80m class with four faults over the four rounds. The rider also won the top individual category for her height for Jamaica.
Johnston, in her first circuit event, competed in the .70m class, finishing with 34 faults after four rounds.
Barbados won the competition with 10 points, while the Cayman Islands were third with four, while Trinidad and Tobago ended with two.
The third leg of the competition will be held in Jamaica on November 5 and 6.
Meanwhile, the Equestrian Federation of Jamaica will host the Federation Equestrian International World Jumping Challenge Category C and the HI-PRO Grand Prix second leg tomorrow and Sunday at the Kingston Polo Club and Equestrian Centre.
