Thomas, Johnson bolster Boyz in Brazil
SAO PAULO, Brazil — With an International Friendly B game against prominent Brazilian club Palmeiras just a day away, two more Reggae Boyz have joined the squad, increasing the number to eight.
However, four more players left the island yesterday and are expected to arrive this morning, and hopefully the remaining five will arrive tomorrow morning.
As it now stands, plans are still being made to play the game here at the Traffic Football Academy. The players who arrived yesterday are Shavar Thomas and Ryan Johnson, as well as chef Winston Lewis, while the players due in today are Duwayne Kerr, Demar Phillips, Luton Shelton and Damion Williams.
At least head coach Theodore Whitmore will have 12 players available for tomorrow’s game.
Thomas and Johnson took part in a recovery session with the rest of the squad for half of yesterday’s evening session, and are expected to be involved in both sessions today.
Those yet to join the squad are Ian Goodison, Dwayne Miller, Dane Richards, Rudolph Austin and Jason Morrison.
The Reggae Boyz should be at full strength when they face Santos away next Monday.
