Conscious artiste Guidance on the rise
CONSCIOUS reggae singer Guidance is ready to take his career up another notch. Armed with a new image and new management and his latest single City of Love, the singer says he is eager to add his voice to the long list of reggae messengers.
Guidance is confident that under the management of Brown Brothers Production his career will soar to the top. He is also happy with the song City of Love a Lutan Fyah combination which he says fans will really enjoy.
“It’s a definite ‘feel good’ song, one that fits in anywhere. I have been getting some positive feedback since its release. I am expecting it to create some noise on the international scene,” Guidance said.
Since his emergence on the scene, Guidance has performed in the US as well as various venues across the East Coast, and alongside dancehall artistes such as Beenie Man and Sizzla at major events in Jamaica. The singer has also graced the stages of Sting, Follow The Arrow, Rebel Salute and Reggae Sumfest.
Donovan Walker aka Guidance hails from Portmore, St Catherine. He has fond memories of his musical exploits during his early years in school. Singing while pounding beats on his desk during class may have been a little distracting for the other students, but for Guidance, it was his way of expressing his love for the music that burned deep within.
That passion soon found an outlet, when Guidance forged an alliance with Joyce Abdool of Rainbow Castle Productions, and the singles A Little Love and Take Back on Wizard Records label were released. With the success of the singles, Guidance was more determined than ever to achieve mainstream success.
