Kate Moss to tie the knot tomorrow in fashion wedding of the year
As any bride will tell you, the run-up to your big day can be one of the most stressful times of your life, and it seems it may be taking its toll on supermodel Kate Moss.
The star was looking distinctly weary — but still effortlessly stylish — as she left her north London home for meetings in Notting Hill Tuesday last. Kate, 37, looked chic and ready for the heavy rain in a wide-brimmed black hat, black skinny jeans, spike-heeled ankle boots and a classic cream belt. She’s got a lot of last-minute planning to do, after all, before she ties the knot with The Kills frontman Jamie Hince, 42, tomorrow. Kate and Jamie’s nuptials are said to stretch over three days in a festival-inspired bash being dubbed ‘Moss-stock’. The pair got in plenty of practice when it came to revelling, however, as they spent the weekend at Glastonbury Festival, where Jamie’s band was playing.
Apparently, Kate suffered some extra stress when she thought she’d lost her engagement ring as she danced along at the side of the stage. However, after a panicfilled couple of hours, she finally found her rock at the bottom of her handbag. Kate’s daughter with fashion editor Jefferson Hack, Lila Grace, will be head bridesmaid on the big day, alongside Sadie Frost’s daughter Iris.
And as Mail Online revealed last Monday, Jamie has asked Alison Mosshart, his band mate from The Kills, to be the best ‘man’. Acts said to be playing in the six marquees erected around her Cotswolds home include Snoop Dogg, Shirley Bassey and Kanye West. The wedding breakfast meanwhile will be cooked by two ‘top chefs’ and cocktails inspired by one of Kate’s favourite holiday retreats, the Jamaica Inn in Jamaica.
Meanwhile, celeb photog Mario Testino will be taking the pictures. Kate also plans to have a dressingup room filled with a number of vintage Ossie Clark dresses for her friends to wear if they choose. Guesses as to the designer of her wedding dress have included her old friend, the now disgraced John Galliano, Stella McCartney or even vintage Ossie Clark. But the first time anyone will get to see the frock will be in US Vogue’s September issue — not such a surprise, considering it’s the fashion wedding of the year. All guests’ cameras and phones are being confiscated when they arrive and a police cordon will protect the area around Moss’s Gloucestershire estate.
