It’s Chirpy
Twelve-year-old Daniel Lashely from Harrison College is the national and regional winner of the Scotiabank Kiddy Cricket Design a Mascot Competition. Here he collects one of his prizes from Marcelle Greenidge, manager of public and corporate affairs, Scotiabank — Caribbean East.
Young Lashley’s entry “Chirpy the Cricket” copped the top position when weighed against 12 other national winners from across the English Caribbean. Daniel won a Nintendo DS as well as a laptop from Scotiabank for his submission. The newly designed mascot will replace Clarence the Crab, who was the ‘front man’ for the programme for over 12 years.
