Man arrested for allegedly stalking Halle Berry
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police have arrested a suspected stalker at the home of Halle Berry.
Sergeant Enrique Mendoza says off-duty Los Angeles police officers hired by Berry saw the man climbing over a locked security gate at Berry’s Hollywood Hills home shortly before 11:30 pm on Monday.
On-duty officers were called and arrested 27-year-old Richard Franco on suspicion of stalking. He remained jailed on Tuesday.
Sergeant George Hoops tells City News Service that Berry identified Franco as the man who also showed up in her backyard on Saturday and Sunday.
Berry was not injured. Calls to her representatives seeking comment were not immediately returned.
Cop: Melrose actress giggled after fatal crash
MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, New Jersey (AP) — A police officer says an actress who had appeared in the Melrose Place television series was giggling and laughing after a motor vehicle crash that killed a New Jersey woman.
The officer says Amy Locane-Bovenizer said police and emergency personnel were “being overly dramatic.”
The Courier News reports Montgomery Police Officer William Wilkes testified Monday during a hearing to determine whether statements the actress made to police after the June 2010 crash will be admissible at her trial.
Locane-Bovenizer is charged with aggravated manslaughter stemming from the death of 60-year-old Helene Seeman.
Prosecutors allege the 39-year-old actress, who lives in Hopewell, was drunk and speeding when her SUV struck a vehicle driven by Seeman’s husband.
The court hearing will continue Tuesday with cross-examination.
Schwarzenegger to return to acting in ‘Last Stand’
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Arnold Schwarzenegger said he’d be back.
A spokesman for the former governor says Schwarzenegger will return to acting with a role in the Lionsgate film Last Stand. The role represents Schwarzenegger’s first major movie role since 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. He made a cameo appearance in last summer’s The Expendables.
Spokesman Daniel Ketchell confirmed Tuesday that Schwarzenegger will appear in the Western flick but did not elaborate. Lionsgate declined comment Tuesday.
Schwarzenegger said in May that he was putting his acting projects on hold after disclosing that he fathered a child with a family housekeeper and splitting with wife Maria Shriver.
