‘Jago’ stages football fiesta today
The St Jago High School Football Committee presents its first annual football fiesta, family fun day and fete today on the school grounds.
This will be a day of football, music and live entertainment and with activities set to begin at 10:00 am. There will be football matches featuring prominent past students who repesented the school and Jamaica.
They will be divided into five teams of a round-robin format with the two top teams contesting the final.
Among the past players expected to take the field are Dennis ‘Stylo’ Ebanks, Horace Sharpe, Fidel Anderson, Roy ‘Simo’ Simpson, Leon Strickland and Livingston Scott.
There will also be two female teams featuring past players, plus a celebrity match featuring DJs, dancers and promoters at 5:00 pm. This will be followed by the live entertainment package.
Entry cost is $500 at the gate, while food and refreshments will be on sale. Proceeds will go to the school’s football programme.
