Tryall Fund donates 20 scholarships
MONTEGO BAY, St James – TWENTY students who have gained entry to high schools, colleges and universities in the next school year have been awarded scholarships by the Tryall Fund valued at approximately $2 million.
The scholarships which were presented during a ceremony at the Tryall Great House in Hanover last week Wednesday, represents an increase of seven over the previous year.
This year the fund awarded five scholarships at the high school level, eight to students attending colleges, six at the university level as well as the Louise Cullman Scholarship, in recognition to the board’s honorary member.
Anthea Williamson who received the Louise Cullman Scholarship will attend the University College of the Caribbean.
The scholarships were open to Tryall employees and their family members and given to outstanding academic and dedicated students.
“The fund truly believes that education should not be limited by finances…we are so pleased to help support continued education for outstanding academic performance and dedication to higher learning… to those that are committed to the goal,” said Terri McGraw, the chairperson of the Tryall Fund.
Meanwhile, Williamson in delivering the vote of thanks urged her fellow recipients to use the opportunity they have been given to gain knowledge and to continue to strive for excellence.
