New MFA building
Dear Editor
With regards to the headline “Construction of new foreign affairs ministry building could begin month end” for a story carried in your September 8 issue, I would like to highlight some facts.
The report I gave to the September 7 meeting of the Public Administration and Appropriations Committee of Parliament detailed the preparations for constructing the new ministry building. At no time, however, did I say or indicate that work would begin on the new building come month end, as the headline suggests.
What I said was that the ministry was hoping to sign the sale agreement for the land with the UDC, which would pave the way for the Chinese to come to conduct the feasibility studies by the end of the month.
