‘HAT’S’ OUR BOY!

One of his two dads has a penchant for headwear so it would be safe to assume that baby Zachary was dressed by Elton John.

The 10-month-old was carried by daddy number two David Furnish as they left their hotel in New York. And his crowning glory was an old man-style flat cap in grey with the Union Jack emblazoned across the top.

The couple kept Zachary warm in a grey hooded coat, with a green tracksuit and blue socks. Meanwhile, Elton himself was dressed in a black Adidas tracksuit with a pair of black shoes.

Partner David Furnish went for a smarter look, wearing jeans, a black leather biker jacket and a white T-shirt. Zachary was born on Christmas Day last year and, after the couple undertook a surrogacy programme in America, the mixing of their semen specimens was allowed — a process which is currently banned in the UK — before being used to fertilise a previously chosen egg. When asked which of them is Zachary’s biological father, Furnish explained: “We both contributed. For the time being we don’t have a clue. We look at him every day and at the moment he has Elton’s nose and my hands. Neither of us care. He’s our child. The important thing is that he’s healthy and happy and loved.”

‘I’m a big fan of Pippa!’

She won fans all over the world when she stepped out in her form-fitting Alexander McQueen’s bridesmaids dress for the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding back in April. And now Justin Timberlake says he was one of the people who was blown away by Pippa Middleton’s appearance at the royal wedding.

In a new interview with Esquire magazine, Justin has revealed he is harbouring a crush on the pretty brunette.

He said: “Us American males are big fans of Pippa. We like the Middletons very much. I’m going to sound like a sleazeball. I’m going to stop right there!’” Justin also spoke about his acting dreams, after having starred in movies including Bad Teacher and Friends With Benefits, and he never realised he could be taken seriously in the industry. He said: “People have made me feel I’m trying to be a serious actor, which is hilarious.

“I’m not trying to be a serious actor. I just want to do a good job. I feel there was a lot of ‘is this going to be good or not?’ I could see how a persona of what you do musically becomes embedded in people’s minds. But I feel like all I ever did on stage was act, in a way. I don’t feel like that’s exactly who I am. I don’t wear waistcoats when I’m at home.”

The full interview with Justin appears in the December issue of Esquire magazine, out on November 2, 2011.

Mr Money-Maker of Hollywood

He has appeared in well over a 100 films and is one of the most iconic stars of our time. And now Samuel L Jackson has been named the highest-grossing actor of all time, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.

The star, whose credits includes a whole host of hit films such as Jurassic Park and Pulp Fiction, has grossed a whopping $7.42 billion during his career. While he enjoyed a number of small roles on films, he found critical acclaim for his role in Jungle Fever in 1991.

Since then he has gone on to work on an average of three and four films a year and he doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon. The actor is already cast for three films set to be released next year.

He is starring in The Avengers remake, The Samaritan and Django Unchained. Jackson is portraying Nick Fury and joining Scarlett Johansson on the The Avengers cast and shots from the film have recently been released. Fans have seen Jackson in this role before when he was first introduced in the two Iron Man films in 2008 and 2009, then reappearing in two of this year’s biggest blockbusters, Thor and Captain America.

But that’s hardly a surprise, as all four films criss-cross for the superheroes to come together to make one big crime-fighting machine known as The Avengers. The actor doesn’t limit himself to film and he is currently starring in Broadway show The Mountaintop.

Speaking about his work ethic Jackson told CBS: “I grew up in a working class family. When I was a kid, all the adults in my house got up and went to work every day. I assumed that’s what grown people do. That’s what I do.

“I just happen to have a very interesting job that’s kind of cool.” Cool, and as his new record has proved, extremely lucrative.
