Former First Global officer to lead JN Financial in western Ja
THE top brass of Jamaica National (JN) is publicly giving its vote of confidence in the ability of Nina Chang to help lead the firm’s charge into the the Western Jamaica financial market.
Chang, 37, was recently appointed manager of the new JN Financial Services in Catherine Hall, St James. Chang was recruited from First Global Bank, where she was business development officer from 2005 to 2011, with responsibility for growing small and medium-sized enterprises by presenting business solutions, scheduling promotions and delivering high-quality customer service. She also worked with National Commercial Bank from 1994 to 2005 in various positions.
“Ms Chang’s experience and skills will be valuable to Jamaica National. The JN Financial Services centre is a world-class facility, which will provide fast, cashless services in the Express area, as well as a consultative environment, with a wide range of services provided by the subsidiaries that will provide a unique experience for members and clients,” said Jamaica National Business Society general manager Earl Jarrett in a press release, adding; “We believe that the team, led by Ms Chang, will deliver these quality services.”
The JN Financial branch Chang manages was opened last month and is the second such outlet to be open in the parish of St James. The 9,000 square feet, two-storey complex includes a large JN Express Centre, with ATMS and drop boxes, as well as Teller Stations and Customer Service.
The JN Financial Services centre also houses the group’s Regional Mortgage Centre, and branch offices of JN subsidiary companies NEM Insurance and JN Fund Managers.
Philip Bernard, JNBS community banking and administration executive, described Chang as a “… charismatic, energetic, goal-oriented and people person who knows how to motivate a team.”
Chang is not daunted by the challenge of establishing a major presence in the financial market in Western Jamaica and is confident that she will lead her team to provide high levels of customer satisfaction to members and clients in the region.
“My focus has always been to carefully grow and manage relationships with specific groups and key community members,” she explained.
“I’m self driven,” she added. “I enjoy life and I am determined to do well.”
She holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration from the University of New Orleans, Louisiana and a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, majoring in Marketing from the University of Technology.
A Past Distinguished Secretary of the Kiwanis Club of St Andrew, the Kingston-born Chang said she enjoys contributing to civic service, networking, playing squash and make-up artistry.
