GraceKennedy STETHS Invitational on today
SANTA CRUZ, St Elizabeth — Eldemire Smith, Meet Director for today’s 29th renewal of the GraceKennedy STETHS Invitational track and field meet in Santa Cruz says all is in place for a successful staging.
Fifty-six teams, including Church Teachers College and Discover U Track Club have been entered for the meet that will see competition in four track events, eight field events and the 4x800m relays.
High school teams from all over the island including national high school girls champs Holmwood Technical, along with Edwin Allen, Herbert Morrison Technical, Kingston College, Manchester High, Munro College, Vere Technical and Wolmer’s Boys will take part.
Smith told Sporting World yesterday, “all is in place, the track is in great condition and we expect another good day of track and field”.
The day’s event will start at 9:00 am with both 400m hurdles races, while there will be competition in the 1,500m, 400m and 100m in all classes.
There will also be shot put, discus, high jump and long jump in all classes for boys and girls.
