Did decorator have enough time?
Dear Editor,
I find it very disappointing and frustrating that after several articles and opinions on the flag controversy, the very important and crucial question of whether the decorator had enough time to get the task done has not been addressed in any of the reports. It reflects poorly on the investigative (fact-finding) capacity of journalists.
If the media were to address this question, people would know whether or not the decorative process was rushed to the point where it would cause a late start to the ceremony (especially in light of the fact that the mayor was told that the decorator “ran out of cloth”), if they sought to have the backdrop completed.
Alternatively, it would address whether or not there were purely tribalist intentions behind the instruction by Courtney Hume, acting outside his capacity, to leave the green out of the flag. I am not particularly interested in sensationalism. Like many other peopIe, I am tired of this story.
Enough is enough. Please have some decency and publish the information, or allow your reporters to do their jobs properly so that the chips can fall where they may.
