Dinner In Gold & White at GoldenEye
An invite from music mogul Chris Blackwell and Haute Hippie designer Trish Wescoat Pound to an all-things-gold-and-white dinner party at GoldenEye drew an impressive turnout last weekend. Guests beautifully styled — many of them in the designer’s label — mingled easily at the Bizot Bar ahead of dinner around a looooong table set on the beach complete with place cards.
CB, as he’s affectionately referred to, along with Wescoat Pound reigned supreme over it all as flashbulbs popped incessantly and cameras followed most every footprint on the sand. Conversation in-between spoons of a spicy seafood broth and forkfuls of succulent jerked lamb ranged from publishing houses in Europe to Obama the first ‘gay’ president of the United States to Noel Coward and Firefly, to PM Simpson Miller making TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential. There were, too, discussions on the beauty of Jamaica, Usain Bolt and the country’s homophobia. Guests raised toasts to the genius of Chris Blackwell and over coffee and dessert — rum cream pie and banana crème brulee — rocked in their seats or took to the sand as the Jolly Boys belted out tune after tune. SO fab readers will delight in the knowledge that the Haute Hippie line will be available in Kingston at Strawberry Hill by mid-June. Thanks, CB, for a great little dinner party.
