This week, Kim Kardashian acknowledged her sex tape was the reason she leaped to fame. Speaking to Oprah Winfrey, she admitted the release of the x-rated film with ex-boyfriend Ray J ‘humiliated’ the family. However, in an extraordinary development, her estranged husband Kris Humphries is said to have claimed her mother Kris Jenner conceived the idea of a tape in the first place.

Humphries’ ex-girlfriend Myla Sinanaj claims he told her many details about the reality TV star during their short relationship earlier this year. According to TMZ, Humphries told Myla that Jenner not only told Kim to make a sex tape, but also to re-film the original because it wasn’t ‘pretty enough’.

The tape, Kim Kardashian: Superstar, was leaked online in February 2007, four years after it was made. Kim initially sued Vivid Entertainment for ownership of the tape, but later settled for a reported $5 million. Eight months later after the tape’s release, Kim and her family were given the opportunity to star in their own reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Ashton Kutcher sues State Department

He has millions in the bank thanks to a showbiz career that has spanned 13 years. Yet Ashton Kutcher is keen to make an extra buck or two by suing the DMV (California Department of Motor Vehicles) for allegedly backing out of a reality show agreement. According to TMZ, the actor’s production company, Katalyst Media, is asking the State of California for $1.4 million.

The lawsuit claims that the failed deal dates back to 2010, when the DMV agreed to “capture the variously humorous, emotional, dramatic, moving, humanising and entertaining situations that arise on a daily basis”. Katalyst claims a ‘formal written agreement’ was penned with the state company to begin shooting the show, simply titled DMV, last summer. The successful Katalyst Media group is responsible for producing hidden-camera show Punk’d.

It is alleged that Katalyst spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in preparation, but six weeks after arrangements had been kick-started, a five-sentence letter from the DMV was sent in a bid to back out of the deal. It is reported that the only reason given by the DMV was that the project wouldn’t be in their ‘best interest’. According to the LA Times, another company that was working on the project, Soda and Pop Inc, is also suing the DMV.

Just this week she was sharing pictures of her baby bump silhouetted against the backdrop of a dramatic sunset, and now pregnant TV host Vanessa Lachey has revealed the sex of her unborn child. The 31-year-old proudly announced via her website that she and Nick are expecting a new man in their lives.

The Wipeout presenter wrote: “It’s a BOY. Nick and I are incredibly excited to share the news that we are expecting a baby boy. We can’t wait to meet him soon!” Earlier this week Vanessa tweeted pictures of her bump while she was holidaying in the Caribbean on the couple’s “babymoon” — a vacation taken by soon-to-be parents before a child is born. The picture was taken by her husband, Nick, when the two visited Jade Mountain in St Lucia in May.
